In business, where analytical and problem-solving skills can be crucial to success, a strong intellect plays a major role. So is it relevant to mention your Mensa membership on your CV or in a job interview?
Mensa asked our Managing Partner, Jesper Buch-Rønne, this question and his answer is:
“It can signal strong analytical skills and be a differentiating factor in competitive positions. At the same time, it can be relevant in technical roles with a focus on algorithms, complex systems and math,” he says.
Information can have its advantages if mentioned in the right context: “It can come across as arrogant or irrelevant if it is not linked to specific skills. Many employers value practical experience and interpersonal skills more than IQ,” he says.
