Senior Backend Developer – Web Scraping & DevOps
On behalf of our client, RightHub (part of Anaqua), we are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to take technical ownership of a business-critical automation and web scraping platform.

About the role
RightHub is part of Anaqua, a global company within IP and brand protection. The team in Denmark works primarily on the Brand Protection product, which helps companies monitor the web and act against online brand infringement such as counterfeit products, fake listings and trademark misuse.
As Senior Backend Developer, you will take a central role in developing and maturing the company’s web scraping and automation pipeline, which is a core component of the product. The system is currently Python-based and runs on Google Cloud Platform, handling distributed workloads at scale.
This is a hands-on senior role with real technical influence. You will help move the platform from a more start-up–style setup towards a more robust, professional and future-proof architecture, while collaborating closely with other experienced engineers.
You will report to the local Product Owner / Engineering Manager and work closely with senior engineering colleagues across locations.
Your key responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain and improve a Python-based web scraping and automation pipeline
- Take technical ownership of backend systems running on Google Cloud Platform
- Work with message-based and distributed architectures (e.g. Pub/Sub, containerised workloads)
- Improve reliability, scalability and maintainability of production systems
- Participate actively in code reviews, testing and release processes across environments (dev, test, prod)
- Collaborate closely with product, backend engineers and other stakeholders
- Help set technical standards and best practices within the team
We imagine that you:
- Have solid experience as a backend developer (senior level)
- Are strong in Python, especially for automation, backend systems or web scraping
- Have hands-on experience with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud (or similar)
- Understand distributed systems, pipelines, environments and DevOps workflows
- Care about code quality, testing, documentation and long-term maintainability
- Are comfortable taking ownership and making technical decisions
- Communicate well in English (Danish is not a requirement)
Experience with Java is not required. Integration with Java-based systems is part of the landscape, but the core of this role is backend engineering and DevOps-oriented development.
